The Marsabit region is affected by drought for the last four years. Wells dry out, and fields can’t be cultivated on the dried ground. The pasture for the animals forces the nomadic peoples from the region to move further away from the drinking water. As a result, they often have to walk for days with their cattle to the boreholes.
